It has been confirmed that Patsy Kensit will be making a dramatic return to Emmerdale later this year – reprising her iconic role as Sadie King.
‘I am really excited to return to Emmerdale,’ teases Patsy. ‘I treasure the years I was here before. Sadie King is a character that I really loved playing. The cast and crew are absolutely brilliant and I am so grateful for the chance to return to the show, it’s absolutely amazing.’

Her return will be explosive and guaranteed to shock. Sadie’s seductive demeanour, combined with her utterly ruthless nature, are set to deliver a spectacular and highly dramatic touch of class to the Yorkshire Dales.’
Fans of the TVChoice Award-winning soap will know that Sadie King initially appeared on our screens back in 2004 – introducing herself as the wife of Jimmy King (Nick Miles). Sadly though, that relationship wasn’t built to last and Sadie soon began having an affair with local mechanic Robert Sugden (Karl Davies).
Across the two years that Patsy Kensit starred in Emmerdale – leaving in 2006 to star in Holby City – she was involved in plenty of storylines.
There were the endless feuds between her and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), and between her and Zoe Tate (Leah Bracknell), as well as the numerous affairs with the aforementioned Robert, her brother-in-law Matthew King (Matt Healy), and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley). Then of course there was plot to kidnap Tom King (Kenneth Farrington).
And now she’s back…
But of course Jimmy is now happily married to Nicola (Nicola Wheeler), so maybe Sadie is returning to cause some retaliatory havoc in Cain’s life. His marriage to Moira (Natalie J. Robb) is struggling (to put it mildly) with Moira currently in jail accused of murdering Celia (Jaye Griffiths) and Anya (Alia Al-Shabibi) and Cain’s recent prostate cancer diagnosis.
As usual, there’s a lot going on in the Yorkshire Dales – and Sadie King will surely just be amping up the drama even further.
Since leaving Emmerdale in 2006, Patsy Kensit has continued to work as an actress appearing in Holby City (2007-2010, 2019) as Faye Morton, the drama Tina and Bobby (2017) as Betty Dean, and EastEnders (2023) as Emma Harding.
She's also had cameos in shows such as Agatha Raisin (2020), McDonald & Dodds (2021), and Death in Paradise (2023).
