Is it me or have all soaps got silly and boring. I went completely off them all for a while. The storylines got way out and silly and some were just boring. Ive recently switched back on to eastenders as some of the old faces are back which is great. Bring back the good story writers from the old days bring back some comedy and good stories in them.

i miss 3 soaps: sons & daughters, falcon crest and dynasty. eastenders is the only one i consistently watch but i find myself getting very irritated by character changes (physical and behavioural) and the way real life is bypassed in order to create drama.

All soaps ave the same story line?

Is it just me or do all the soaps have similar story lines ie...Hollyoaks with amy and ste domestic violence and now emmerdales jo & andy is doing the same, then theres kidnapping hollyoaks with niall & the Mcqueens and now rosie webster in corrie. And as for eastenders there just repeating history such as kat and zoe slater and now ronnie and danielle? oh and theres the winning lottery ticket in the factory on corrie with janice and now its emmerdales factory girls! cant they do a story line thats unique and different to every other soap?

Soaps.. do try to mix their content a bit, but generally have three types of themes:

1. Love and Romance

2. Mystery and death

3. Cheating and Justice.

They all mix in with one another and help make our Soaps interesting, help everybody move onward.

I find that it's useless to hope for happy ever after relationships, as eventually something happens to turn them sour -so mirroring many (but not all) real relationships- if exaggerating the themes, sometimes making me think: Gawd, that'd never happen in Real life!

I Love Soaps, sometimes looking at the Australian ones, but they aren't as good as ours -as they seem to have Fantastic stories that are a bit too strange.

Well that's my Point Of View -for what it's worth!

I agree Soaps are getting silly even if I can't stop watching them but the one that has really bothered me at the moment is Donna Dingle how come just over two weeks ago she was critical in hospital not knowing if she would ever walk again and now she's happily persuing an affair with Ross using no walking aids or anything. For once why can't married couples in soaps stay happily married instead of someone else becoming involved or death occuring.

The only soap that i've been watching lately is Hollyoaks, which i think jus gets better and better!!! but i agree that the other soaps aren't as good as they used be. i used to be hooked to eastenders and coronation street and emmerdale, but now home and away and hollyoaks are the only soaps i watch nowadays. Bring back some good storylines, eastenders, coronaton street and emmerdale writers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
