2009 TV Quick & TV Choice Awards

The TVQuick & TVChoice Awards is naturally our favourite night of the year. That’s not to say it’s not exhausting, because although we get to mingle with the cream of the TV world, we also organise it all ourselves which means we’re never off duty (though it is possible to slip in a few glasses of wine).

We have to make sure all the presenters and winners turn up on the night, or there’s no show. Thankfully, all were present and correct. This year was a bumper year, and we even had Peter Andre reporting for This Morning as the guests filed in.

Billie Piper, Patsy Kensit, the Inbetweeners, countless EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Corrie bods,  stars from Merlin, Ashes To Ashes, Spooks, Law & Order: UK, and Ant & Dec, who always come and who are great supporters of the awards. This year they were given an Outstanding Contribution Award – a gold one, very rare! – were all in attendance, and stayed afterwards to party unitl the early hours. I think the Inbetweeners were the last to leave.

We all felt a bit grim the next day, perhaps but not as grim as Corrie’s Simon Gregson, but that’s another story!
