Visiting the set of Mrs Biggs

27 March 2012

Arriving at Macclesfield station I commit a big faux pas as I get into a taxi. ‘Can you take me to Little Peover?’ I ask, pronouncing it ‘Pee-Over.’ ‘Ha, ha, ha!’ laughs the cabbie. ‘It’s pronounced “Pee–ver. I can tell you’re not from around here.’

The Apprentice series 8 press launch

13 March 2012

We’ll admit it – The Royal Institute of British Architects in central London isn’t somewhere we normally hang out. But this morning, at 10am, we were in its cavernous screening room for the launch of the eighth series of The Apprentice. Attended by Lord Sugar, plus aides Karren Brady and Nick Hewer, and also the ladies and gentlemen of the press, we were treated to episode one (favourite quote, spoken by one of the hopefuls: ‘I’m like an ...

Death In Paradise

15 November 2011

Sainte-Marie may be an idyllic Caribbean setting, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t get its fair share of grisly killings in BBC1's Death In Paradise. Starring Ben Miller as quintessential Englishman Detective Inspector Richard Poole, who insists on wearing his woollen suit and tie despite the tropical temperatures, he’s joined by local cop Camille (Sara Martins) in the eight-part series.

16 September 2011

We're in one of London’s swankiest hotels, The Savoy, for 2011’s TVChoice Awards, and I’m here to interview the winners as they come off stage. It’s lovely to see them all – even Jeremy Kyle (who wins Best Daytime Show) – as they really appreciate all the readers who have voted for them. We catch up with what they had to say...

On Monday, 15 August we sent our own Jessica Dady to personally inspect Channel 5's new Big Brother house, and meet the man who's stepping into Davina's slingbacks, the one and only former BB champ (twice!) Brian Dowling. Here’s how she got on…

Great Expectations

27 July 2011

With a menacing escaped convict, a handsome young man who has his heart broken and a nutty old bird in a decaying wedding dress, what’s not to like about Great Expectations? It’s probably one of Charles Dickens’s best loved novels which might explain why there have been more than 250 adaptations (stage and screen) over the years with another on the way this Christmas.
Merlin

We last saw evil Morgana disappearing beneath the rubble of Camelot in the season finale of Merlin but fans can heave a sigh of relief as the delicious sorceress returns and is up to more wickedness in series four which is currently filming in Cardiff and France.
