BBC Breakfast presenter Bill Turnbull turned up earlier than co-presenter Sian Williams to the TVChoice Awards because she was at another function first.
‘She will be here later so we haven’t divorced yet,’ he said. ‘We have been given the morning off so we can come along to this evening.’
Meanwhile Bill said BBC Breakfast’s move from London to Salford will probably be next April, although there’s no firm date yet. But while Bill is heading north with the show, Sian isn’t.
‘I’ll be very sad to see an end to our presenting partnership. We’ve been together for a very long time. We have a terrific friendship and it will be very difficult,’ said Bill.
‘Sometimes you have to move on and that’s what’s going to happen. It’s a shame, but there you are.’
